The event which took place in the modern and beautiful HFN Conference Hall in Tel Aviv (with live videoconference feed to the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo) was very well attended and demonstrated the outstanding innovation in Israeli Biotech.

A highly professional panel of Brazilian experts in Sao Paulo and Tel Aviv gave real-time commercial and clinical feedback to seven Israeli Healthcare companies. The panelists in Brazil included physicians and top managers from the Albert Einstein Hospital in SP specialized in the relevant medical fields who joined us through live teleconference. In Tel Aviv, the panel included Avi Meizler and Ronen Hausirer (bios below).

We heard some very interesting presentations ranging from Laboratory Diagnostics to Mobile Apps for Healthcare, and the Brazilian and Israeli panel members were all pleasantly surprised by the level of the presenters and presentations. The companies who presented were: Bio View, Night sense, Emerald Medical Applications, Ioptima, Carmel Diagnostics, Libra@Home and Navontech.

We were also lucky that so many private investors and representatives of venture funds attended the meeting in Israel to scout for potential technologies and products, which added to the networking value of the event.

As promised, the panel chose one company out of the 7 that they believe has a higher chance to succeed in Brazil both clinically and commercially. The panel chose Emerald Medical Applications and they will be accompanied by Atche Medical in their first steps into Brazil.

We are hopeful this becomes a bi-annual event with an opportunity for Israeli Biotech companies to receive valuable commercial input from the Brazilian market.
